This porcelain dish — ideal as a spoon rest or decorative trinket holder — comes from both Rosenthal Porcelain and Josef Kuba Works, both celebrated for producing elegant household ceramics. The pink rose motif and sculpted contour suggest it was designed for both use and display.
The underside bears both maker’s marks – as Rosenthal likely manufactured this piece as a blank in the 1920’s. JKW decorated and sold this piece in 1930, as also marked on the back. This was their very first year in business, in Carlsbad, Bohemia – now known as Karlovy Vary, Czechoslovakia.
